Tek Translation International is a global multilingual translation and Localization Company that carries out projects for many of the world’s leading healthcare, software and technology companies. Selected interns will have the opportunity to participate actively in diverse Project Management teams and develop a deep knowledge of our industry by getting valuable hands-on experience. Moreover, interns will be able to work in a friendly, yet challenging atmosphere with people of many different nationalities. Where are we located? The position is located at our HQ and OneWorld Localization Centre in Madrid. The office is easily accessible from the city centre to our suburban location. There are also two new offices Brazil and China to manage operations in the South Americas and Asia. Who are we looking for? We are interested in recruiting translation/localization students to work as trainees within our company. We require a full command of English and ideally, but not essentially, a basic level of Spanish. We are interested in trainees of all nationalities to help support Project Managers with administrative and language tasks. IT skills and knowledge of translation or localization tools would be an advantage. When do we hire? There is no fixed start and end date of an internship with us. We hire year-round for a minimum time period of 6 months. Depending on performance and availability, interns may be hired to work as full-time employees after the scheme period. What does the job entail? The trainee’s main responsibility will not be translating new material, but rather supporting PMs during certain phases of the project. Tek´s regular workday is from 9 to 6 with one hour for lunch from 2 to 3. The primary duties of the trainees will be to work with Project Managers on linguistic tasks such as: • Review of translated and desktop publishing documents • Sign-offs • QA tasks(in native language) • Implementation of feedback from client validation • Manual comparison tasks • Administrative tasks: updating logs with purchase orders and updating status reports • Creation of purchase orders (with manager’s validation) • Alignment checks and updating of translation memories • Testing (following briefings from PM´s and Engineers) • By close mentoring from a Project Manager, small multilingual projects (looking for resources, providing translation kits to Resources, coordinating partial deliveries among the project resources and solving resource doubts and queries), would also be an important duty for developing skills.
